SafeTrack is a personal-safety application for Android and iOS. It lets a person raise an emergency alert from their phone, and notifies the emergency contacts that person has chosen themselves.
What it does
Raise an alert
One action on the phone sends an alert to the contacts the user has nominated, with the time and their last known location.
Nominated contacts only
Alerts go to the people the user has personally added as their emergency contacts. Nobody else receives them.
Close the loop
When the user marks themselves safe, the same contacts are told. Nobody is left believing an emergency is still running.
Honest about itself
The app shows whether it can currently reach the network and how recent its information is, rather than implying it is watching when it is not.
How SafeTrack uses SMS
SafeTrack sends SMS messages only as a direct result of something the user has done. We do not send marketing, promotional or bulk messages of any kind, and we do not message numbers obtained from any third-party list.
- Emergency alerts — sent when a user raises an alarm, to the emergency contacts that user has nominated in the app.
- Safe-arrival and stand-down notices — sent to those same contacts when an alert is resolved.
- Contact confirmation — sent when a user adds someone as an emergency contact, so that person can confirm or decline.
- Verification codes — sent to the account holder's own registered number when they register or sign in.
Status
SafeTrack is in active development and is not yet generally available. A limited, invitation-only beta is planned. This page will be updated when the application is released.
